Trimble Announces Advanced Vehicle Inspection Solution with Trimble Inspections
Trimble is proud to announce the release of Trimble Inspections: a new digital Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) solution for commercial fleets that improves fleet safety and efficiency, promotes regulatory compliance and simplifies driver and back office inspection workflows.
Available through Trimble Instinct—Trimble’s flagship telematics and fleet management solution—Trimble Inspections adds a modern, streamlined truck and trailer inspection application to Trimble Instinct’s best-in-class driver experience. This new tool allows drivers to inspect both tractor and trailer simultaneously within the same workflow on their mobile device, saving time, boosting efficiency and eliminating the need for multiple interfaces and applications.
Trimble Inspections also supports safer fleet performance and streamlines fleet maintenance efforts with the ability to connect its inspection workflow with leading maintenance solutions, like Trimble’s TMT Fleet Maintenance solution and Penske’s maintenance portal. These direct integrations enable unique repair order workflows, automatically alerting fleet maintenance managers of the need for vehicle repair if a driver reports a defect during their pre or post-trip inspection.
“Trimble is committed to ensuring the safety and compliance of our customers, and adding a next-gen DVIR solution to Trimble Instinct continues to prove that commitment,” said Paul Cardosi, Vice President of Telematics and Fleet Management at Trimble. “With Trimble Inspections, fleets have the power to tailor inspections based on their unique and ever-evolving business needs while satisfying federal compliance standards.”
Trimble Inspections consolidates truck and trailer inspections into a single workflow for the many fleets that operate in both the United States and Canada, as a modern DVIR solution that complies with US Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) regulations.
With its unique customization capabilities, Trimble Inspections enables back office fleet managers to create configurable checklists based on load and truck type as well as specific business needs. On the road, this allows drivers to inspect their assets using easy-to-follow inspection workflows customized for their specific journey, eliminating unnecessary steps often contained in more standardized inspection systems.
