Successfully retaining drivers depends on many factors, including the quality of their daily work experience and the technology they’re given. We’re committed to helping companies provide their drivers an exceptional in-cab experience, so they can achieve maximum efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Drivewyze Free is now available on every device deployed with Trimble Instinct, Trimble’s unified driver workflow and back office management solution.
By combining Instinct with Drivewyze Free, drivers are afforded an exceptional experience they can’t find anywhere else; an experience that empowers them to do their best work.
Instinct Brings a Better Driver Experience
Instinct is a bundled ecosystem of industry-leading devices and services that work together to provide a streamlined and seamless end-to-end workflow. Instinct is designed to improve safety, Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and efficiency on the road, all while making it easy for a driver to connect with the back office.
Instinct encompasses an ecosystem of Trimble hardware and applications into a single solution built on commercial grade tablets using a Google Android operating system. With its unified set of tools, Instinct seamlessly connects every member of a team, all with a single package at one monthly subscription price. Instinct is capable of integrating with numerous first- and third-party services, but comes equipped standard with several Trimble tools, including:
-
- Trimble ELD
- Trimble App Manager
- Trimble Fleet Manager
- Trimble Media Manager
- Trimble Inspections (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports)
- Core Telematics Services (APIs, Onboard event recording, vehicle and engine performance data)
Instinct can also be enhanced with Trimble CoPilot, our commercial-grade navigation solution, with an additional subscription. Plus, Instinct includes reliable wireless connectivity on North American mobile networks and services, such as AT&T, so your drivers and back office staff can communicate no matter where they are.
Stay Alert with Drivewyze Free
Drivewyze Free is a unique service that integrates with a driver’s in-cab device to proactively deliver critical safety information. By using a vehicle’s GPS data to give the most relevant local alerts, this service greatly increases safety and improves a driver’s experience on the road.
With Drivewyze Free, drivers will be notified of many items requiring their attention, including (but not limited to):
-
- Unexpected Slowdowns – Get real-time updates on areas experiencing stationary traffic.
- Work Zones & Service Announcements – See where work zones might impact traffic, or where road closures might impact routes.
- Low Bridges & Steep Grades – See where special road characteristics might become risks to safety.
- Rest Areas – Be notified of upcoming rest areas and when they’re open.
Drivewyze is North America’s only no-cost safety service for the trucking industry and is made possible through an exclusive relationship with state and regional agencies and trusted data providers. Drivewyze Free sets itself apart by being designed specifically for commercial vehicles and providing state-sponsored alerts. These alerts can be tailored for specific routes and challenges associated with a certain vehicle and its characteristics.
The Road Ahead
Trimble and Drivewyze are working together to ensure that drivers have the seamless, highly dependable technology they need to be safe and efficient on the road. Going forward, Instinct devices will be pre-loaded with Drivewyze Free at no additional cost to the driver or company. No subscription is needed and there’s no additional setup or hassle for fleet managers.
In addition to Drivewyze Free, Trimble has also integrated Drivewyze PreClear into Instinct, so drivers can bypass weigh stations and mobile inspection sites. Read more about this recent integration here.
