Trimble Transportation Garners Five Awards for Sales & Marketing Excellence
Transportation and logistics is an industry unlike any other, and it’s only fitting that it should have an awards competition unlike any other as well. Such is the Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA) Compass Award show which on June 12, 2020, awarded Trimble Transportation five of their coveted plaques.
The TMSA Compass Awards are unusual both for its audience, which combines sales as well as marketing professionals and for the judging criteria, which considers both the work and the results. Trimble excelled in all of these areas in this year’s competition, bringing home Compass Awards of Merit in all of the categories the company entered, specifically:
Marketing & Sales Collateral category – Redesign of Trimble Transportation’s Outbound magazine.
As a result of the company’s redesign, viewing times grew by 15%, read rates increased by 13% and skimmed rates decreased by 10%.
New Product Development Category – Selling “Simplicity” show launch.
Trimble Transportation introduced two products—Cloud Imaging and Mobile Imaging—at the annual in.sight user conference + expo, generating 176 leads and 10 quotes.
Digital Sales and Marketing Category – Hitting a homerun: Aligning sales and marketing.
Trimble Transportation’s content marketing strategy improved engagement for both sales and marketing, increased leads generated and achieved a 95% approval rating among sales representatives.
Media Relations Category – Innovative Tech.
The company’s media relations efforts related to the launch of six products at the in.sight conference produced 14 published articles and ten one-on-one interviews.
Integrated Campaign Category – Building New Connections.
As a result of Trimble’s integrated campaign introducing the Appian FinalMile product (now a part of Trimble Maps) to the professional builder supply industry, lead goals were exceeded by 240% and over $600,000 in potential ROI was generated in the first six months.
The intensive award application process is a case-study format that requires comprehensive background information and project details. The processes and lessons learned from the entries are later made available in TMSA’s library, benefitting professionals throughout the industry.
According to Angie Davids, 2019 chair of the TMSA Recognition Committee and director at YRC Worldwide, this well-respected awards program recognizes the best and most relevant marketing and sales initiatives. As part of TMSA’s mission, the Compass Awards Program plays an important role in raising the standard of marketing innovation and sales performance in the transportation and logistics industry.
A panel of 15 marketing and sales executives and agency professionals from across the United States evaluate the strategy and execution of each entry according to a 6-point scaling system that scores project goals, strategic plan, tactics and measurable results as well as work samples. These standards make the Compass Award an unparalleled mark of distinction in this industry as well as an opportunity for entrants to gain valuable feedback.
TMSA CEO Brian Everett sums it up by indicating the TMSA Compass Awards Program provides transportation and logistics companies with the opportunity to showcase their best work in marketing and communication strategies and sales performance. In addition, award recipients earn recognition from their peers while they benchmark their work against others in the industry.
