Trimble Kicks off in.sight with Several New Product Introductions, Education and Customer Recognition
During the third week of September 2019, Trimble opened its in.sight user conference + expo in Houston, starting three full days of education, networking and engagement with some of the brightest minds in the transportation industry. The 2019 theme is the Power of Together and is centered on how all of us, working together, can make transportation safer and more efficient.
The 2019 in.sight began on Sunday, September 15, with a customer reception in the Expo Hall. Sponsored by Cleo, the event provided attendees with the opportunity to network, visit exhibitors and meet with Trimble technology experts in the in.sight LAB, providing hands-on demonstrations of Trimble solutions.
Things kicked into high gear on Monday, September 16, as Trimble welcomed attendees to in.sight with a rousing Opening Session, featuring Trimble leaders who detailed their vision for improving supply chain connectivity, enhancing how companies leverage data to make smarter decisions in their business and showcasing several new solutions across its technology platform.
Some of these enhancements included new capabilities to improve supply chain visibility, new modules to Trimble’s Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms and the availability of a complimentary version of Trimble’s Visibility platform for existing Trimble carrier customers.

A Focus on Networking and Education
Following the Opening Session on Monday, September 16, attendees transitioned to the Power of Together Networking event. This power hour of connecting gave attendees an opportunity to talk to their peers about best practices when it comes to technology adoption, safety and compliance and continuing to improve efficiencies across their organization.
After this collaborative event wrapped up, the learning opportunities continued with the start of our robust slate of educational breakout sessions. These 45-minute events spanned the rest of the afternoon, with attendees able to choose from a mix of presentations, panels and roundtable discussions, each designed to help attendees learn about specific Trimble solutions as well as best practices about using technology within their organization.
The sessions also feature a wide range of industry speakers. The September 16 sessions included industry thought leaders, including Dave Oseicki, a regulatory expert who discussed top legislative issues for trucking, Steven Todd, former VP and director of advocacy of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, who detailed the transition to automated issuing of oversize/overweight permits and Bob Voltmann, former President and CEO of TIA, who detailed the latest regulatory impacts on the 3PL industry.
The September 16 event also included a panel discussion on the future of connected trucks, featuring remarks from Sanjiv Khurana, former General Manager, Digital Vehicle Solutions for Daimler Trucks North America; Brian Mulshine, former Director of Customer Aftersales Experience for Navistar Inc. and Venkatesh Natarajan, Chief Digital Officer for Ashok Leyland Ltd. This engaging panel detailed how OEMs are embracing digital transformation with diverse telematics and data integration strategies to solve customer needs spanning vehicle performance, driver safety, fuel efficiency, and more.
These nearly 300 educational sessions continue throughout in.sight and we share highlights from each day’s agenda in future updates.
Celebrating Our Innovative Customers
After the September 16 educational sessions concluded, attendees took part in an evening reception, sponsored by EBE Technologies, to enjoy some appetizers and refreshments after a long day of networking and education.
The evening reception transitioned into in.sight’s Customer Appreciation Dinner, sponsored by ProMiles, which is a chance for Trimble to recognize all of its customers.
