Education and Engagement Abound During Day Two of in.sight
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, Trimble continued the festivities in Houston for day two of its in.sight user conference + expo.
The day began with a breakfast, sponsored by Skybitz, which gave attendees the opportunity to continue networking and share best practices with their fellow colleagues in the transportation industry.
The day continued with a wide range of educational sessions, which featured an array of Trimble speakers, leading discussions on how to best use technology to improve performance and efficiencies.
One particular topic that was prominent in the Tuesday, September 17 session agenda was the electronic logging device (ELD) mandate. Former Trimble Transportation executives Alicia Jarosh, Glenn Williams, Jon Passman and Rick Ochsendorf, led a panel discussion that detailed Trimble’s efforts to help its Mobility customers navigate the upcoming electronic logging device (ELD) mandate compliance deadline, as well as best practices on how successfully prepare their fleets and drivers ahead of the December 16, 2019 date.
The conversation around ELD continued with a session hosted by Joe DeLorenzo, former director of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance (OEC), who provided updates on the ELD transition from a regulatory perspective, as well as led a discussion on personal conveyance and yard moves, two special driving categories that are detailed in the mandate’s final rule.
A Texas-Sized Evening of Fun and Entertainment
After the September 17 sessions concluded and day transitioned to night, attendees had the chance to enjoy some appetizers and refreshments in the Expo Hall, sponsored by SpeedGauge, Inc., to relax and get the evening started off right.
The evening didn’t end in the Expo Hall. The party continued as in.sight attendees headed to The Armadillo Palace. Sponsored by EFS – a WEX Company and Kenworth Truck Company, the event featured a mix of food and drinks, games and unique photo ops and a variety of live music; not to mention live armadillo races!
in.sight continues through Wednesday, September 18, and finishes off with a wide range of continued education, networking and engagement opportunities.
Stay tuned for an update on additional festivities from Houston as the transportation’s premier industry event wraps up for 2019.
