Trimble Highlights Supply Chain Collaboration and Connectivity to Open its in.sight user conference + expo
Online Edition of Annual Transportation Event Centered on Revolutionizing How We Supply Our World
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 24, 2020—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) provided its vision for the future of supply chain collaboration during the opening session of its annual in.sight user conference + expo. The fifth annual event, hosted online in 2020, features three days of educational sessions, engaging speakers and networking opportunities with stakeholders from across the transportation industry.
The theme for this year’s in.sight is “We Are One” and is focused on how collaboration is essential to keeping the transportation supply chain moving. The opening session highlighted the importance of this sentiment, not only in navigating current economic and pandemic-related challenges but also in improving the performance and efficiency of the supply chain in the months and years ahead.
“Our customers and the entire industry have shown incredible resilience in the face of the most difficult operating environment in decades,” said James Langley, senior vice president of Trimble Transportation. “One of the keys to this resilience is the ability to work together to keep frontline workers safe, equipment running and freight moving. We are committed to building on this collaboration, creating the platforms that enable the secure flow of data and information to drive better decisions and optimize how freight moves throughout the supply chain.”
The opening session detailed Trimble’s vision for enabling this collaboration and creating a connected supply chain. This includes developing solutions that solve inefficiency challenges by increasing transparency, improving carrier resource utilization and providing shippers with freight coverage at the best possible value. Monday’s presentation highlighted tangible progress in achieving this mission—from Trimble’s acquisition of Kuebix to Community Load Match enhancing how truckload capacity is found and filled by connecting Kuebix shippers with a rapidly growing carrier community from Trimble’s network of 1.3 million commercial trucks.
“When all players in the logistics supply chain work together, everyone wins,” said Dan Clark, vice president of Product Innovation and Strategy for Trimble Transportation. “By bringing together Trimble’s massive network of carriers with one of the industry’s largest networks of shippers there are unprecedented possibilities to foster direct connections that improve efficiencies for all.”
The three-day event is open to all transportation suppliers and technology vendors, including integration partners and providers of competing solutions. This inclusive approach underscores the purpose of facilitating an environment where users from across the supply chain can share ideas and discover new ways to increase performance and efficiency.
