Trimble’s Mike Hamill Recognized as a 2024 Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive

We’re proud to announce that Mike Hamill, vice president of strategy for transportation at Trimble, has been recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as one of their 2024 Pros to Know! 

The annual Pros to Know award shines a spotlight on individuals across the transportation and logistics industry that have encouraged innovation and shared their thought leadership to enhance the global supply chain. As SDCE explains, these award recipients “go above and beyond to overcome challenges, advance supply chain management and make the impossible, possible.” Hamill joins previous winner, Kelly Williams, Enterprise Product Lead, who was a 2023 award recipient. 

As the vice president of strategy for the transportation sector at Trimble, Hamill helps define and develop the market-leading opportunities and solutions that guide our organization as we continue to transform the global supply chain. He and his team have played a key role in creating the strategic initiatives that will influence the next several years of Trimble operations and product development, thereby impacting nearly all of the top trucking companies in North America and businesses around the world.

“I’m honored just to be nominated, let alone win something,” Hamill said of his award. “I believe strongly in the value and importance of transportation and logistics; the industry is vital to our everyday lives. If I can help guide it toward a safer, more efficient future, I’m happy to do so. And I’m happy to work with anyone—customer, colleague, competitor—to find that right path forward.”

Beyond his work at Trimble, Hamill is a seasoned freight brokerage business leader with more than 25 years of operational experience before joining Trimble. He’s also held leadership positions at several well-known logistics companies, including US Xpress Inc., AFN, CH Robinson Worldwide and American Backhaulers. And he has been a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) for the last decade through the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), where he also holds a seat in the Directors’ Circle and serves on the Fraud Task Force.

In his work with Trimble, Hamill has prioritized the importance of data in his strategies. He takes a holistic approach to incorporating Trimble’s “Connect & Scale Strategy,” which seeks to empower businesses through interconnected, scalable technology solutions.

“Collecting and managing data is a critical element of today’s transportation industry. But it’s not enough to simply say ‘We have data,’” Hamill said of his work. “The insights companies gain from that data and how they apply those insights to the real world are what will give the competitive edge. It’s my goal to ensure that as the role of data expands, companies are able to see important truths about their operations and take the actions needed to achieve success.”
